Adams County School
District #14 celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002. Alumni
came from all over the country to share in this exciting day.
Opening ceremonies were held on the football field complete with
dignitaries, school officials, bands, JrROTC, parade of classes and
alumni, cheerleaders, entertainment, a fly over, and the release of
100 doves. There were activities for all. A play area
was available for the kids and the kids at heart. Inflatable
toys, games, face painting, clowns, and more. The Adams City
High School football team played a rousing game. An alumni
area was set up in the cafeteria to celebrate the "decades".
Tables were laden with memorabilia from each decade for all to
enjoy. A vintage car show with 48 vehicles from 1903 to 2002
were displayed. Police, Fire, and Rescue put on demonstrations
and allowed close up inspection of their equipment. A fun time
